Flowers in Winter: Celia Thaxter’s Island Garden Exhibit
The exhibit “Flowers in Winter: Celia Thaxter’s Island Garden” opens at Discover Portsmouth on December 6th, 2013. The exhibit features the photographs of Peter Randall, and reproductions of Childe Hassam’s illustrations from Thaxter’s book, An Island Garden, published in 1894. Also on display will be the flower-inspired paintings of artists Christopher Volpe and Dustan Knight.
Gallery hours: Dec. 6-Dec 23, 2013, 10am-5pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am to 8pm Saturdays and Sundays.
Art Around Town (5-8pm) Fridays, Jan. 3, Feb. 7, and March 7, 2014.
